The U11 Cats start off on the right foot!
The U11 cats played the first round of games at the Harlow Junior Central Venue League. This season’s team features five rookies, with only three “veterans” left from last season’s campaign, so emotions ran high!
Cats 17 – Clacton Cannons 36
This game was always going to be hard, with so many new faces and so little practice, so the Cats found themselves down 26-2 in the first half, but then found their feet and came back nicely in the second half. We still lost, but gained precious experience and confidence going into the next two games.
Cats 40 – Braintree Blue Devils 03
The Cats shut the gates in ‘D’ right from the tip-off and forced countless turnovers, which turned into quick fast-breaks. Showtime!
Cats 52 – Leopards White 4
The Cats kept going with their offensive effort, but also showed great progress sharing the ball and got all eight players on the scoreboard.
Coaches’ corner: We have a few things to fix and we will be facing tough opponents soon, but it is looking good for the season. Most importantly, everyone went home on a high and with a big smile on their faces!
