 DAN LOVELL SLAM DUNKS USA SCHOLARSHIP
Former Cambridge Cats Junior Dan Lovell who has been studying a Sport National Diploma at Long Road Sixth Form College in Cambridge, will be moving stateside to join Adams State College in Colorado.
The 18-year-old is a member of the Long Road Basketball academy, and played for Cambridge Cats at both U16 and U18 National League Teams.
He said: “Going to play basketball in the United States has been a dream of mine since I started playing. It was not until I went to Long Road that I realised my dream could turn into a reality.
“I am very grateful to everyone who has helped and supported me along the way, including my team mates: we all encourage each other in training so that we always keep improving.”
The four-year scholarship will see Lovell study Human Performance and Physical Education while also aiming to win a place in the college basketball team.
Cambridge Cats Coach Clinton Wedderburn said: "The club is very proud of what Dan has been able to achieve. He has always been a key member of the National League squads at Cambridge Cats. We wish him all the best for the future."
His coach at Long Road, Pete Charlwood, said: “Dan has been one of the Academy’s top players in terms of ability, level of commitment and work ethic. I am extremely excited and proud of Dan and pleased that all his hard work has paid off.”
